New LED Lighting at the Houston Wing Hanger
Highlights Electrical is proud to have been selected to install new LED lighting at the Houston Wing Hanger.
The Houston Wing is part of the Commemorative Air Force – www.commemorativeairforce.org and the planes housed here are assigned to the Houston Wing who fly and maintain them. They are just a few of the aircraft participating in the annual Wings Over Houston Airshow at Ellington Airport in October.
The Commemorative Air Force Houston Wing Museum and Hangar is open to the public on the 1st and the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Hangar B-5, West Houston Airport, 18000 Groschke Road, Houston, TX 77084.
The new LED “High-Bay” aircraft hangar light fixtures are more cost efficient. The cost to operate them is less than 50% of the former fixtures (1000-watt metal halide High-Bay Fixtures), and the maintenance charge will be virtually zero for a decade or more.
The light emitted is quite balanced as compared to the older technology metal halide lamps, with no hot spots or shadowed areas, as 97% or more of the light goes where it is required, on the hanger floor where the intricate work of maintaining these vintage WWII Aircraft is performed.
